We've been in contact with a lot of users who are using Scan2CAD as a raster editor and who are using it to re-type and edit raster text.
Rather than using Scan2CAD's raster text writing tool to do this, we suggest the following.
Write your new or edited text using Scan2CAD's VECTOR text writing tool.
Writing text as vector instead of as raster gives you the advantage of being able to easily change the size of the text, correct any errors you make and move the text around after you have written it.
There's information on writing, editing and moving vector text here.
After you have written all your vector text (and deleted any raster text beneath):
Go to File Menu > Vector > Rasterize.
This will convert the vector text to raster.
You can also rasterize individual bits of vector text by windowing them or zooming into them, then choosing File Menu > Vector > Rasterize.

"Just purchased and started using the software and it's great!!! You have done a wonderful job with this application and it is paying for itself many fold over on the first project."

When you open a raster file in Scan2CAD there is a number after the file name at the top of the screen. This tells you what type of raster image it is:
(2) - Monochrome image
(256) - Grayscale or 256 colors
(16.7M) - 16.7 million colors
Scan2CAD support is free.
