Thicken Lines

Before After

Thicken Lines thickens the raster image.

Thicken the whole image

1. Click or select Raster Effects Menu > Thicken > Lines.
2. In the Preview Window, zoom into the image so that you will be able to clearly see the effects of the thickening.
Warning: If you display a large section of your raster image in the Preview Window this function may operate very slowly.
3. Move the slider. There are two values – 0 and 2.

If the slider is set to 0 the raster image is not thickened.

If the slider is set to 2 Thicken Lines thickens the raster image as follows. If it finds lines on the image that are one pixel wide it adds two extra pixels, one on either side. If it finds lines on the image that are two pixels wide it adds one extra pixel.

As you move the slider from 0 to 2 you will see thin raster lines on the image being thickened in the Preview Window.

4. Ensure the Apply changes to Full Image option is selected.
5. Click OK.

Click to undo.

Thicken part of the image

If you only want to thicken part of the image, choose the part you want to thicken by windowing it or zooming into it, then follow the steps above. In Step 4, ensure the Apply changes to Full Image option is not selected.

Special note for color images

If you are working with a color raster image you can modify the way that Thicken Lines works by selecting a Pick Color.

Before

After: no Pick Color

If no Pick Color is selected Scan2CAD thickens entities of any color that are on a white background.

Before

After: Pick Color = blue

If a Pick Color is selected Scan2CAD thickens Pick Colored entities only, regardless of the background color they are on.
