A proxy or firewall (Zscaler, McAfee etc.) may block Scan2CAD’s connection to the internet which is required to activate your trial or license.
The solution is to change the appropriate proxy or firewall settings.
This is a common requirement for companies using proxies and your IT Administrator will be aware of how to make such changes.
Please inform your IT Administrator that they should allow the connection by following this easy checklist:
Note: It is expected that anyone can visit the above address using their web-browser. This is not related to how a proxy or firewall blocks a software’s connection.
If it helps, we’ve prewritten a message which you can send to your IT Administrator:
Hello,
I am using Scan2CAD software for converting CAD/CAM files.
The software is unable to activate because the company proxy or firewall is likely blocking the connection (Zscaler or another such utility.)
They’ve provided the following instructions to solve this.
Could you please make the change for me?
- Allow HTTPS connections to license.scan2cad.com. Using port 443.
- Create an SSL Inspection Rule to bypass SSL inspection for license.scan2cad.com

Thank you very much for your help!
For companies that do not have the ability to connect to the internet (.e.g defence companies) we offer an offline licensing method. This should only be used in scenarios that there are absolutely no internet connections as the offline license does not offer ‘Enhanced conversions’ which provides higher accuracy conversions. Contact us to learn about offline licensing.
Scan2CAD allows you to enter your company proxy connection credentials. In most cases such credentails are not required and are auto-detected where possible. In the free trial, you may edit the credentials by clicking the ‘Connection Settings’ link on the welcome screen. In the licensed version, click ‘Help’ > ‘Preferences’ > Open Connection Settings.
Please note: PAC files are not supported in the Address field. You should manually enter all details.
