A rectangle is a flat geometric shape with four straight sides and four right angles. The difference between a rectangle and a square is the rectangle’s uneven adjacent sides, as opposed to the equal sides of a square.

1. If they are not already selected, select the following icons:

2. If no Pick Color is selected, Scan2CAD will draw on the raster image in black.

If you want to draw in any other color, select a Pick Color.

3. Choose a pen size using Raster Edit Menu > Pen Type > Pen Width.
4. By default, the rectangle will be solid filled.

To draw a rectangle outline, press Shift+S or deselect Raster Edit Menu > Solid.

5. Position the cursor at one of the rectangle’s corners. Press down your left mouse button. Holding down your left mouse button, move your mouse. As you move your mouse you will see the rectangle being drawn. When you are satisfied with the rectangle, raise your left mouse button.
