Outline text characters

About vector text outlines

Scan2CAD gives you the ability to write vector text strings. Text strings can be thought of as editable text paragraphs which can also be edited in most other CAD/CNC applications.

Outlines are not vector text strings. Each individual character is formed of multiple vector entities, creating vector shapes in the form of characters.

After you have created your text outlines, it is not possible to subsequently edit the outline text as a text string using the ‘vector draw, edit text’ tool.

In the below example the text shapes are made of vector lines and bezier curves.

How to create vector text outlines

You can create 100% accurate vector text outlines by writing vector text as outlines or by converting vector text to outlines.
