Save the raster image

Save a new, unnamed raster image

Save the raster image using its existing name

Save the raster image under a new name

Save the raster image in a different raster format

Save part of the raster image

Auto Save the raster image

When you save a GeoTIFF file, only the GeoTIFF information supported by Scan2CAD is saved. This means that when you save over an existing GeoTIFF file any other GeoTIFF information originally stored in the file is lost. To prevent this, use File Menu > Raster > Save As to save the file under a new name.

Save a new, unnamed raster image

1. Select File Menu > Raster > Save As.
2. Use the Save as Type section of the dialog to select a raster format.
3. Type a name for the file into the File Name section of the dialog.
4. Click Save.

Save the raster image using its existing name

Click or select File Menu > Raster > Save.

Save the raster image under a new name

1. Select File Menu > Raster > Save As.
2. Use the Save as Type section of the dialog to select a raster format.
3. Type a name for the file into the File Name section of the dialog.
4. Click Save.

Save the raster image in a different raster format

1. Select File Menu > Raster > Save As.
2. Use the Save as Type section of the dialog to select a raster format.
3. Type a name for the file into the File Name section of the dialog.
4. Click Save.

Save part of the raster image

1. Choose the part of the raster image you want to save by windowing it or zooming into it.
2. Select File Menu > Raster > Save Part As.
3. Use the Save as Type section of the dialog to select a raster format.
4. Type a name for the image part into the File Name section of the dialog.
5. Click Save.

You cannot use Save Part As to save part of a raster image as a PNG file. To save part of a image as a PNG file, use Raster Effects Menu > Crop and then save the cropped image using File Menu > Raster > Save As.

Auto Save the raster image

1. Select File Menu > Raster > Auto Save.
2. Select 0, 10, 20 or 30.

0 turns Auto Save off.

If you choose 10, 20 or 30 Scan2CAD automatically backs up the raster image every 10, 20 or 30 minutes. The image is saved under the file names Autobak1.??? and Autobak2.??? on a rotating basis, where ??? represents the current file type being edited.

Because raster images can be very large you should only use this function if you are doing a lot of raster editing. If you do use it, use Windows Explorer to delete Autobak1 and Autobak2 after each Scan2CAD session to conserve disk space.
