Set the Maximum Character Size Limit

1. Zoom into a character that is representative of the text you want to convert.

2. For a raster character
2.1. Select OCR Menu > Char Size > Raster.
2.2. Click on a black part of the character you have zoomed into.

The character is surrounded by a rectangle and the Maximum Character Size Limit is automatically updated to the size of the character you just clicked on.

If you accidentally "miss" the character and click on white space, Scan2CAD continues to prompt you to click on a character until you do so successfully.

3. For an exploded vector text character
3.1. Select OCR Menu > Char Size > Vector.
3.2. Draw a rectangle closely around a group of vectors representing a single character you have zoomed into.

The character is surrounded by a rectangle and the Maximum Character Size Limit is automatically updated to the size of the character you just rectangled around.

If you accidentally "miss" the character and click on white space, Scan2CAD continues to prompt you to draw a rectangle around a vector text character until you do so successfully.

If there is one, click on for raster, or rectangle around for vector, a W character.  Ws often seem to be the largest characters and clicking on a W ensures that  the Maximum Character Size Limit will be set to a large enough value.
