This article relates to a situation where you see the following registration error message:
‘The installation code does not match with Code 1. Please contact your system administrator’
Why are you seeing this error?
When you installed Scan2CAD for the first time you generated a Scan2CAD license (a .lic file.) This file was placed in a location of your choice.
The Scan2CAD license file is required to successfully launch Scan2CAD. The Scan2CAD license records the location of where it sits along with many other variables.
If Scan2CAD has told you ”The installation code does not match with Code 1.’ This means the original recorded location of the license file is different to where the license currently sits.
This error specifically refers to the PC’s volume ID. Or more specifically your hard-drive’s volume ID.
It is probable that this ID has changed because the license has moved to a different location or even because you have replaced some hardware in the PC such as a new hard-drive.
In future you can follow this deactivation process to safely and easily deactivating your license to transfer it to a new location or PC. (Note: The deactivation process will not solve the error. The process must be followed prior to the error.)
How to solve
The simplest and quickest solution is to move your license file back to the location in which it was originally installed.
If you’re not sure where you’ve placed the license file you can search for ‘scan2cadv8.lic’ which is the name of the file.
