Scanning with a Twain- or WIA-compliant scanner

Twain and WIA are communication standards that allow data sources like scanners and digital cameras to communicate with host applications like Scan2CAD. If your scanner is Twain- or WIA-compliant you can use it to scan directly into Scan2CAD.

1. If you have more than one Twain- or WIA-compliant device use File Menu > Acquire > Select Twain Source to select the device you want Scan2CAD to use for scanning. You only need to do this the first time you scan a drawing into Scan2CAD.
2. Click or select File Menu > Acquire > Load from Twain Source.

Load from Twain Source starts up your scanner software. Use your scanner software to scan your drawing.

If you have scanned your drawing in grayscale or color the Warning: Color Image dialog may appear.  If it does, select an appropriate option and click OK.

See the Scanning Checklist for important information about scanning.
