Automatic batch conversion lets you convert as many raster images and PDF files to DXF as you like.
The Batch by Directory Options dialog appears.
Selecting this option will select all the colors on your image as Color Layers.
Select this option if you are converting color raster images and you want to create color vector files. If you select this option it is important that you reduce the colors of the images you are going to convert before using Batch by Directory.
If you select this option and a PDF file contains raster entities:
If the raster entities are black and white, they are saved in TIFF fax group 4 format.
If the raster entities are grayscale or color, they are saved in BMP format or JPEG format, depending on what you have selected in File Menu > PDF > Import Options. If BMP is selected, you will get a relatively large raster image. If JPEG is selected, you will get a smaller image but with reduced quality.
This means that if you open the DXF file in a CAD program that can accept attached raster images, both the DXF file and the raster image will be opened in the CAD program.
Please note that the raster image is not actually contained in the DXF file. The DXF file only contains a reference to the raster image. This means that if you move, delete or rename the raster image it will no longer be attached to the DXF file.
If you select this option and a PDF file contains vector entities, the vector entities are saved as a DXF file. You will be able to edit the vector entities in your CAD program.
Vectorization of PDF Raster
If you select this option and a PDF file contains raster entities, the raster entities are vectorized and saved as a DXF file. You will be able to edit the vectorized raster entities in your CAD program.
The Batch Source folder is the folder containing the raster images and PDF files you want to convert.
The Batch Destination folder is where Scan2CAD will store the files it creates during the batch conversion.
Scan2CAD converts all the raster images and PDF files in the Batch Source folder using the PDF import options, vectorization settings, OCR settings, raster effects, PDF options and DXF export options you have selected.
The DXF files created during the batch run are stored in the Batch Destination folder.
